User’s Guide to: The Blanchot S/Cite
The pages comprising this site have been organized around the “Chronology of Blanchot’s Writings in French” and “Secondary Literature on Blanchot: By Author.” These pages are, relatively speaking, ‘link rich’; from the Blanchot Chronology one can branch out to translations of these works — English, Italian, Spanish, German and Other Languages (Finnish, Greek, Japanese, Turkish and Swedish) are represented thus far, and to tables of contents (“Contents”) and “Reviews.” One may bypass the “Chronology of Blanchot’s Writings in French” and go directly to lists of works according to language.
The “Secondary Literature on Blanchot: By Author” page is the second central page. This includes materials in all available languages, as well as links to tables of contents, reviews, blurbs, and abstracts. One may bypass this page and go directly to secondary literature in specific languages. This includes French, English, Italian, Spanish, German and “Other” — Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Greek, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian and Swedish are among the languages represented.
In “News” you will find information regarding forthcoming or newly published books, articles, reviews; announcements for conferences; relevant calls for papers; and authors’ queries. In the future I hope to make available a ‘preprint’ function for authors.
In “Links” you will find — links! Most notably, one can find here links to blanchot@lists.village.virginia.edu, the Blanchot discussion list hosted by the “Spoon Collective.” There are also links to publishers and other matters of possible interest.
I have drawn on a several bibliographic sources, and these are acknowledged in the “Contributors” page. Because the further development and success of this site will be due to the cooperation and participation of others, on that page I have and will also acknowledge those individuals who contribute to the development of this web site. As the manners of contribution develop, so too will the means for acknowledgement.
Note to Readers:
As is the case with most web sites, this site is under constant revision. Please make any suggestions you have as to how this site might be improved. I especially encourage individuals to send bibliographic references that are not found here as well as to supply obviously missing information or point out errors.
I hope to develop annotations for these bibliographies which include critical notices and reviews. So, . . .
Note to Authors:
I would very much appreciate your providing information concerning your works for this list. An “Author’s Abstract” would be especially welcome, as well as a table of contents for any book on Blanchot you write. Abstracts may be as long or as short as suits you.
Also, if you have abstracts, reviews, summaries, notes, etc. on other texts (Blanchot’s own or secondary literature) which you think would be helpful to other readers, I encourage you to submit them.
